I feel a responsibility to help those who are rejected by society. With this documentary I created a portrait of people who are feared and ignored. I am trying to shed light on their shadowy world, not as an observer, but as a friend and participant in the drama of their lives. I focused on the individual with the intent to show the dignity and goodness inherent in every human being and give thought to what brought my new friends into their present situation.
I dedicate this work to all my homeless friends.

It was Christmas time again. 2015
In Poocketz tradition I panhandled and was given a beautiful 6 foot tree by a kind owner of a tree-lot. He strapped the tree on top of my car and I drove away thankfully and triumphantly. I found antique ornaments in Good Will. Several of our young men helped erect the tree on the dunes. The open trunk of my car held trays of snacks, it was our buffet. We had a feeling of warmth and and belonging.
The next morning we found the tree vandalized and demolished…….AND SO goes the life of a homeless man.
